Keijuane Hester is the founder of a re-entry initiative built from lived experience. After overcoming incarceration, he went on to build a successful bakery business and now uses his journey to help others rebuild their lives with purpose and direction.
Keijuane Hester’s story begins in Durham, North Carolina, where he faced significant challenges as a young man. While attending high school in Durham Public Schools, he made decisions that led him down a difficult path, ultimately resulting in a federal conviction for selling cocaine.
In August 1995, that path came to a halt when he was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison at Butner. What could have been the end of his story… became the beginning of a new one.
Learned baking from scratch while incarcerated and turned it into a career
Keijuane knows the challenges of rebuilding after incarceration—because he lived it. Today, his focus is creating opportunities for others to gain skills, rebuild confidence, and step into a new future.
His mission is simple… turn second chances into real outcomes.
